Buffalo
Rodeo’s new EP, 123 Water (Jeffery Drag Records), dances a line between classical ethereal sounds reminiscent of 70’s bands like Pink Floyd and Fleetwood Mac and modern psychedelic variations like Mac Demarco and Tame Impala. A considerable maturation from their 2013 release, Home VideosBuffalo Rodeo strives to combine tight rhythms and ambient melodies with expressive vocal harmonies on their newest release. The group have just premiered their new single, “Blue Sky” via Huffington Post.

Formed around 2008 in a music-thirsty gulch of the hills of Bowling Green, KY around the likes of Cage the Elephant, Sleeper/Agent, and Morning Teleportation, Buffalo Rodeo has worked tirelessly as an independent band securing shows at festivals such as The Big To-Do Festival, Starry Nights Music & Arts Festival, and Riot Fest, as well as booking tours in around 25 states in 2013 alone.

Comprised of original members Nate Davis (guitar), Zach Preston (vocals), and Ryan Gilbert (drums),Buffalo Rodeo added Jordan Reynolds (keys, vocals) in 2012 along with Patrick Duncan (bass) and Kevin Creambus (van) the following year to result in a road-hungry combination ready to bring vibrations to all the right eardrums.

Buffalo
Rodeo also enjoys tossing a Frisbee in alleyways, kicking volleyballs onto rooftops, Taco Bell (out of necessity), driving long stretches of vast nothingness in the American Midwest (necessity, again), sleeping on couches, cramming in vans, Nawlin’s voodoo, and meeting friendly folks all across the country.

JARED &THE MILL Wrap Up Tour with Barry Gibb

Jared & the Mil

Media darlings, JARED & THE MILL, have just wrapped up an extensive stadium tour in support of former Bee Gees front man, Barry Gibb. The group headed out on the road with  Gibb on his most recent tour, Mythology the Tour Live, stopping everywhere from the Jones Beach Theatre to the Hollywood Bowl.

Jared & the Mill have recently struck a chord with fans and critics alike after this year’s SXSW, with their heartwarming gesture. The band had visited fan Mason Endres, and played an intimate concert in her hospital room, as she was one of the festival goers that was involved in the horrific vehicle accident that took place. Upon hearing the news that she was harmed in the event, Jared & the Mill decided to bring the show to Mason.

Following the story, Jared & the Mill gained the attention of high profiles outlets such as Rolling Stone, Billboard, Time, FUSE,  Huffington Post, Entertainment Weekly, Mashable, Noisey, MSN, MTV, USA Today, NME, Buzzfeed,  ABC News, and countless others.

The much talked about band, who hails from Phoenix, AZ, got their start in the summer of 2011. The group consists of Jared Kolesar, his long time friend Michael Carter, Larry Gast III, Josh Morin, and Chuck Morriss III, Gabe Hall-Rodrigues. The band brings to the table an eclectic mix of Indie Rock, Folk, and Americana, subtle doses of Jazz and the Blues. If there’s one common influence on an artist’s work, it’s certainly the landscape in which he lives. Their music has been called, compared and regarded by a number of different names, and they’ve been influenced and molded by many different events and people. But more than anything, They’’d like to think that some shred of the Southwest – their home – can be found in the heart of their music.

Jared & The Mill have shared the stage with The Killers, Flogging Molly, Youngblood Hawke, Cake, Horse Feathers and Joe Pug to name a few. Their latest record Western Expansion is out now.

Jared & The Mill’s SXSW Serenade Strikes a Chord with Press

Image
Arizona buzz band, Jared & the Mill, had stopped by the hospital of fan Mason Endres, 18, who was injured during the horrific SXSW tragedy which occurred last week. Endres had only been speaking to the band shortly before the accident took place that evening on the streets of Austin. Endres suffered a fractured neck, broken leg and broken nose. She had a rod placed into her leg and surgery to repair a blocked artery in the other leg.
Upon hearing the news, Jared & The Mill stopped by to see Endres in the hospital over the weekend, and brought the show to her, literally, as they performed a handful of songs around her bedside. The band played “Just for Now,” “Love to Be Found,” “Ides of Fall” and “Western Expansion.”

Watch Jared & the Mill perform for Mason here:
“It’s been quite a rollercoaster,” Endres’ father Dan told Statesman.com. “She’s going to be fine. There are some people out there that are not as lucky as us.” Six other patients from the crash remain hospitalized, four in serious or critical condition. “She was on monitors when we told her that Jared was coming, and her heart rate jumped way up,” her father adds. I think the pure excitement of everything has gotten me through today. I felt better than I ever imagined I thought I would feel in a hospital.”
The band have recently been making headlines in Rolling Stone, People, Entertainment Weekly, Time, Huffington Post, Vice, FUSE TV, Al Jazeera, Buzzfeed, MTV, Mashable, Gawker, NME, USA Today, Billboard, Yahoo News, and many more.
